Walking the Tightrope: Navigating Our 7th & 8th Month Triplet Pregnancy Journey

Being expectant parents of triplets can be an exciting, yet overwhelming experience. As we reached the end of our 7th month of pregnancy, our nerves were starting to set in. Our doctor was confident that everything was progressing as normal, however, we still couldn't shake the feeling that something might be wrong. That's why, when we received the news that one of our babies was at high risk, it came as a shock.

Navigating the ups and downs of a high-risk pregnancy can be challenging, but with the right support and care, it is possible to make it through with grace and joy. In this blog, we'll be sharing our journey through our 7th and 8th months of pregnancy, the challenges we faced and the best practices that helped us along the way.

One of the biggest concerns during our pregnancy was the health of our babies. Our doctor had advised us to undergo an ultrasound on a weekly basis, however, the radiologist suggested that we avoid excessive ultrasound scans as it could impact the foetus. This was a difficult decision to make, but we ultimately decided to follow the radiologist's advice.

As our 8th month approached, we received the news that one of our babies was at high risk and our doctor advised us to undergo an emergency delivery. This was a tough decision to make, but we knew that the health and safety of our babies came first.

The delivery was a blur of activity, but we remember feeling a rush of adrenaline as we welcomed our triplets into the world. Although they were small and fragile, they were all healthy and beautiful, and we felt an instant bond with each of them.

Throughout our journey, we were lucky to have a strong support system in place. My husband was an incredible rock for me, always there to listen and offer comfort. And my in-laws were equally supportive, making sure that I was eating well and getting enough rest.

As expectant parents of multiples, we want to offer some words of encouragement. This journey can be overwhelming, but with the right support and care, it is possible to navigate the ups and downs with grace and joy. Here are some tips that helped us:

  1. Seek out the best medical advice and make sure that you are taking care of yourself and your babies.
  1. Surround yourself with a strong support system of family and friends who will be there for you through thick and thin.
  1. Pay attention to your body and listen to your instincts. If something doesn't feel right, don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions.
  1. Focus on self-care and make sure that you are eating well, getting enough rest, and staying hydrated. The doctor advised me to have a high amount of liquid intake during these months and my husband and in-laws made sure that I had a proper and healthy diet. The use of staircase was prohibited for me as well.
  1. Stay positive and embrace the journey, no matter how unexpected it may be.

Our journey through our 7th and 8th months of pregnancy was filled with mixed emotions, happiness, fear, and adrenaline. But with the support of our loved ones and the right care and attention to our bodies, we made it through.

We hope that our story inspires and encourages expectant parents of multiples, and we wish you all the best as you embark on your own journey. This is a time of great excitement and joy, and with the right support and care, you will have the confidence and strength to face any challenge that comes your way.
